The Rogosin Institute Opens New Dialysis Facility on Manhattan’s West Side at the Maurice R. & Corinne P. Greenberg Center for Integrative Healthcare of The Rogosin Institute

(New York, New York)
The Rogosin Institute (Rogosin) announces the opening of the dialysis facility at the recently opened Maurice R. & Corinne P. Greenberg Center for Integrative Healthcare at 619 West 54th Street. Rogosin’s newest, state-of-the-art dialysis unit provides expanded in-center hemodialysis and home dialysis options closer to home for patients who live on the West Side of Manhattan. The Center is now accepting new patients and can accommodate 250 for in-center hemodialysis. In addition, as part of Rogosin’s commitment to patient-centered care, they have access to all home dialysis options and its benefits for enhanced quality of life. Six private training rooms are available for patients interested in home dialysis, including home nocturnal dialysis. Rogosin has one of the largest home dialysis programs in the metropolitan area and is the only center providing internet-based, at-home monitoring of patients using the NxStage dialysis machine.

Barry Smith, M.D. Ph.D., President of Rogosin, commented, “We are excited to be able to offer the very best in in-center and home dialysis care to patients on Manhattan’s West Side. The ability to combine such care with a health promotion and screening disease prevention program, chronic kidney disease services, and family and community education and support services, all features of the Maurice R. and Corinne P. Greenberg Center for Integrative Healthcare, means that we can offer truly integrated health services to all who need our help. What we have at this Center is the future of health care for patients with kidney disease. The Center exemplifies Rogosin’s goal to be the best of the best for people with kidney disease, helping them to live healthier lives, where quality of life is at the highest possible level.”

This brand new 22,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility is modern and cheerful with lovely park views in some areas. The center has Wi-Fi connectivity to help patients feel more comfortable, as well as to enable them to participate in life more fully while on dialysis. The entire facility, including all treatment areas and the waiting room, is very spacious, allowing for extra privacy. Most importantly, the Center is staffed with compassionate and dedicated world-class healthcare professionals, including physicians, a nurse manager, technicians, nutritionists and social workers.

The new Maurice R. & Corinne P. Greenberg Center for Integrative Healthcare of The Rogosin Institute combines the very best in world-class healthcare and research with community outreach, education, mobilization and the promotion of healthy living. The Greenberg Center is the core of Rogosin’s healthcare prevention initiatives for local, national and international communities. There is also a policy analysis and development program that will provide a clear and strong voice for the improvement of healthcare at the higher levels of city, state and national health reform.
This Center was made possible by the extraordinary generosity of The Starr Foundation and Maurice and Corinne Greenberg. Additional generous grants and donations were provided by dedicated friends and benefactors of Rogosin.
