The Immunogenetics and Transplantation Center (IGT) at The Rogosin Institute is one of the largest solid-organ immunogenetics and transplantation laboratories in the US. The state-of-the art IGT laboratory provides all of the histocompatibility services for kidney, heart, liver, lung and small intestine transplants at four (4) premier academic transplant programs in the greater NY Metropolitan area as well as provide support for transfusion services.  IGT has enabled more than 500 solid organ transplants each year and is responsible for more than 3500 patients wait listed for kidney transplantation. 

We are currently seeking qualified technologists to fill full-time evening (3pm-11pm) and night shift (11pm-7am) positions. Under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor and Senior Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technologists will be responsible for performing: HLA Class I & Class II typing using molecular techniques, solid phase HLA antibody screening and identification of donor specific antibodies, complement dependent cytotoxicity crossmatch, flow cytometry crossmatch and ABO blood group typing (confirmatory).

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Clinical and Laboratory Sciences and hold a valid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License.  Candidates must have at least two (2) years of experience in human histocompatibility testing including experience and knowledge in HLA typing, antibody screening and Flow/CDC cross matching, and reagents and safety measures. Our laboratory operates on a 24/5 (Monday-Friday) schedule and has an active on-call program.
