Which is the best dialysis for me?


There are two main types of dialysis; hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis (done at home).  Discuss with your nephrologist which modality best meets your needs.

Who will be on my health care team and how can they help?


At Rogosin, the dialysis team consists of a physician/nephrologist, nurse, technician, nurse practitioner, dietitian and social worker.  We work as a team to meet the needs of our patients.back to top



Can I talk to other patients who have faced similar problems?


There are opportunities to speak with other patients that can be arranged by your social worker.  You may also be referred to organized programs such as ESRD Network and Buddy Program.

Can I work while receiving dialysis?


Many patients work while receiving hemodialysis.  Rogosin offers many shifts to accommodate individuals’ work schedules.

How often do I need an appt with nephrologist?


Your nephrologist will establish with you how often to meet for appointments.

Can I exercise?


Exercise can increase your stamina and promotes overall good health.  The amount and type of exercise should be discussed with your physician.

Who pays for dialysis?


Private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid may cover all or part of the cost of dialysis treatments. Insurance and payment is arranged through Rogosin’s billing office prior to beginning dialysis.
