Jeannette did not know much about organ donation until she heard that a co-worker needed a kidney transplant. Believing she might be a good donor, Jeannette volunteered to be evaluated at The Rogosin Institute. She was found to be a perfect match for her co-worker, who she barely knew. She did not hesitate to become a donor and she and Valerie, who received her kidney, underwent transplant surgery in June 2007 at New York-Presbyterian/Cornell. Jeannette is an enthusiastic advocate for organ donors, believing she benefited as much from the process as Valerie, who received her kidney.
